Charlie Brown's adventures are back on the big screen!

Meet the star of Oscar nominated animation Song of the Sea.

The movie, which comes out in the UK this week, is based on an Irish folk tale.

It follows the story of a boy called Ben and his little sister who meet selkies, giants and faeries on their adventure.

It was made using traditional drawing techniques, and was nominated for the biggest film awards in the world, the Oscars, earlier this year. (CBBC newsround)

Song of the Sea is a 2014 Irish animated fantasy film by Cartoon Saloon that is directed by Tomm Moore. Plot

In October of 1981, on an island off the coast of Ireland lives Conor, a lighthouse keeper, his son Ben, his wife Bronagh, who is expecting their second child, and their sheepdog Cú. Bronagh leaves unexpectedly late one night, leaving behind her newborn daughter Saoirse. Six years later, Conor is a depressed alcoholic, Saoirse has yet to utter a single word, and Ben has grown resentful of his sister, associating her with his mother’s disappearance. The family are then visited by Granny for Saoirse's birthday. That night, Ben scares Saorirse with a story of Mac Lir the giant and his mother Macha the Owl Witch, who turned him to stone and stole his feelings. Later that night, Saoirse plays a seashell horn given to Ben by their mother, and it leads her to a white sealskin coat hidden in Conor’s closet. She puts the coat on and is coaxed into the ocean by a group of seals. It is then revealed that she is a beautiful white Selkie. After swimming with the seals, she is found washed up onshore by Granny, who insists upon taking the children back home to the city for their own safety. Conor reluctantly agrees, and throws the chest containing Saoirse's coat and its key into the sea.

The following night on Halloween, Saoirse plays the shell, alerting a group of Faerie creatures to her presence. Ben and Saoirse begin attempting to travel home, but encounter the Faeries who hope that Saoirse will sing the Song of the Sea and allow them and all their brethren to travel home to Tír na nÓg. Unfortunately, they are attacked by Macha's owls, who turn the Faeries to stone. The siblings take a bus into the country, where they run into Cú, who had originally been following them to the city, and come across a sacred well. Unfortunately, without her coat, Saoirse is rapidly growing deathly ill, shown by her hair turning white. She falls into the well, while Ben tries to follow her and meets the Great Seanachai. The Faerie tells Ben his sister has been kidnapped by Macha's owls, and he gives the boy one of his hairs that will lead him to the witch’s house, and in the process sees that the night his mother left, she departed into the sea and left Saoirse with their father, and realizes how unfair he's been to Saoirse all these years. Ben then meets Macha, who is not the villain he imagined. She claims that when her son, Mac Lir, suffered from a broken heart, she took away his suffering, turning him into the small island near Ben's home. She is determined to do the same for everyone, even herself.

Ben manages to rescue Saoirse and the shell’s song releases Macha's feelings back into her, which helps her recognize the gravity of her actions. The witch helps Ben, Saoirse, Cú fly back home with the spirits of Mac Lir's dogs. The children arrive home during a storm, and Conor attempts to take them back to the mainland to get Saoirse to a hospital; at the same time, Granny is on her way to their island in search of her missing grandchildren. Ben dives into the sea in search of Saoirse's coat, which he recovers with help from the seals and his father. The group is then washed up on Mac Lir's island, where Saoirse, reunited with her coat, is restored to health and sings her song. Faerie creatures from across Ireland rise and travel to Mac Lir's island, and Mac Lir himself emerges with Macha and his dogs as they head to Tír na nÓg. Bronagh appears with the sad news that she and Saoirse must depart as well. However, since Saoirse is part human, Bronagh is able to take her coat and leave her behind to live as a human while she departs. After a tearful goodbye, the Faeries depart across the sea, and Ben and his family happily return home to their island, where Granny finally arrives, and decides the children can stay with their father. The Simpsons say divorce rumours are 'baseless'

They are one of TV's longest married couples, but of late there have been rumours that it's divorce-ville for Homer and Marge Simpson.

Not true, says the animated couple.

In a video posted online, called Together Forever, Marge says: "Homie and I are here to address baseless rumours that we are going to split up."

The rumour-mill kicked in after Al Jean, one of the original writers of the show, said that there could be a legal separation for the pair.

He made the comments in an interview with Variety magazine, which discussed various future storylines.

Marge and Homer have been married for 26 series of the cult TV show.

In the Youtube post, their first official statement on their marriage, Marge goes on to explain how the story was first reported before news spread around the world.

Homer then goes on to ask why "news media guys can't cover more important things".

"Now listen here, Marjorie and I are as solid as a rock," he adds.

New Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer released

The trailer for the new Star Wars movie has been released

The Force Awakens is the seventh film in the franchise and the first of a new trilogy of sequels.

It's not due to be released until 18 December 2015, but a special minute-and-a-half teaser clip was put online on Friday.

The new film is set 30 years after the end of Episode VI, Return of the Jedi.

It brings back original Star Wars characters Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia, which is sure to please some life-long fans of the films.

One cinema in Texas, USA, is showing the trailer 17 times in a row and hosting a big discussion between Star Wars experts.

How they created the Lego movie

The Lego Movie has been one of the big successes at the cinema this year with huge numbers of people flocking to see it.

It has made more than £294m in tickets sales around the world, after costing £38m to make.

But did you know that although the film does contain some actual Lego blocks it is mainly created from computer generated images.

Back off Batman, and step aside Supergirl, because there's a new superhero in town taking Pakistan by storm - the Burka Avenger!

The Burka Avenger is an amazing action-comedy animated TV series that follows the adventures of the Burka Avenger and three young kids in the imaginary city of Halwapur as they fight the evil Baba Bandook and his henchmen.

The new hero is Pakistan's first ever female superhero.

Jiya is a schoolteacher who turns into the Burka Avenger to defend her young students from baddies who are trying to destroy their school.

The show has become a big hit in Pakistan, which has never had an animated series before.

The Burka Avenger's message is especially important for kids in Pakistan, where girls are not always given the right to an education.

In 2010, schoolgirl Malala Yousufzai was shot by the Taliban after campaigning for girls to get better access to education.

Burka Avenger is the creation of Haroon Rashid, one of Pakistan's most famous and best selling pop music artists.

Haroon says: "Burka Avenger is a cartoon superhero, but for me, Malala is a real-life hero."

As the Burka Avenger, she uses theBurka to hide her true identity, which no one knows except for herffather,Kabaddi Jan.

Batman through the ages

Lewis Wilson and Robert Lowery were the first actors to play Batman on the big screen, in two 15-part serials. Lewis came first, in 1943, in a series that invented what was then called The Bat's Cave. Produced during World War II, its anti-Japanese sentiments make uncomfortable viewing today. 1949's Batman and Robin was a low-budget affair, in which the Batmobile was simply a Mercury convertible.Camp and goofy, Adam West's depiction of Batman is as familiar as his theme tune (der-ner der-ner der-ner der-ner BAT-MAN!). West also played the character on film in 1966, but he never enjoyed driving the Batmobile. "It was out of balance and it was rather dangerous," he recalled. "You never knew when the brakes would fail. I tried to keep it under 35 miles an hour".After collaborating with Tim Burton on Beetlejuice, Michael Keaton was the director's first choice for his gothic take on the caped crusader. He quit in 1992 over studio interference, saying, "I knew we were in trouble when certain people started the conversation with 'Why does it have to be so dark?'"Val Kilmer squeezed himself into the Batsuit in 1995 for Batman Forever. Finding Nemo sequel Finding Dory out in 2015

Disney-Pixar are making a sequel to hit animation Finding Nemo, set to splash onto the big screen in 2015.

The new movie, Finding Dory, will focus on the forgetful Dory voiced by American TV host Ellen DeGeneres.

It will see the blue tang fish on her own adventure to reunite with loved ones.

According to Disney, the film will feature new characters along with familiar ones like Nemo and his dad, Marlin.

Finding Nemo won an Oscar for best animated feature in 2004 and is one of the most successful Pixar films of all time.

Superman tops 'greatest' sci-fi character poll

Superman has been named the greatest science-fiction character of all time.

The Man of Steel, played by Christopher Reeve, topped a survey of 2,000 British people by a game company.

Star Wars' Yoda came third

Second and third places went to two Stars Wars characters - Han Solo and Jedi master Yoda.

Eight Doctor Who characters made the list, with Daleks most popular at number 13. Matt Smith's Doctor came 31st - beaten by David Tennant's Doctor at number 20.

There have been five Superman films. Christopher Reeve played the hero in first four and Brandon Routh starred in the fifth.

The next one, Man of Steel, is due out next year. British actor Henry Cavill will take the lead role.

The survey was done to mark the launch of new game Stratego Sci-Fi.

Frankenweenie Trailer HD (2012)

Frankenweenie is a black and white stop-motion animation about a kid who invents a machine that can bring his dead dog back to life.

It's been made by famous director Tim Burton, who's known for making movies about crazy characters who invent things.

So to celebrate the film coming out we asked Newsround viewers to send in ideas for wacky inventions for Joe to show to Tim and the cast.

What's it about?

Schoolboy Victor Frankenstien is a scientific genius. When he's not playing with his beloved dog Sparky, he's busy making machines and filming little movies about monsters. One day Sparky runs into the street and is hit by a car and dies.

Victor is devastated but at school he learns from his weird science teacher that you can bring animals back to life with magic lightning so he invents a machine and tries to bring his dog back from the dead…

The stars

The main character, Victor, is played by an up and coming child actor called Charlie Tahan. His most recent big film was Charlie St Cloud which he was in alongside Zac Efron. None of the other voice actors are that famous but Victor's Mum and Weird Girl (yep, that's an actual character!) are played by a big favourite of mine called Catherine O'Hara who is in my best Christmas film ever - Home Alone!

Hit or Miss?

Hit! Don't let the black and white style put you off, because it looks so good that after about 5mins you don't even miss the colour. Like all of Tim Burton's movies, it's full of really weird and interesting characters like Weird Girl who has a pet cat called Mr Whiskers which predicts things with his poo! Some of the characters are a bit pointless though like Victor's next door neighbour who is around throughout the film but doesn't really do much at all.

I reckon the film can be split into two with the first half being much better than the second. The first half is really funny as we get to know all the characters and there are some really funny jokes in it - especially if you like old horror movies. The second half is still good but not as much fun as it is mainly a lot of action without many jokes. However there is a really funny one involving a giant turtle and a hamster which had me in stitches!

Overall I would say it's definitely worth a watch with lots of unforgettable characters and some silly comedy.
